NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Annual Election of the Gates Fire District will take place on December 10, 2024, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Gates Firehouse at Gates Fire Station No. 1, 2355 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624, for the purpose of electing the following fire district officers:
One Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term, commencing January 1, 2025, and ending December 31, 2029.
One Fire Commissioner for a one (1) year term, commencing January 1, 2025, and ending December 31, 2025.
All candidates for a District Office shall be residents of the Gates Fire District and not convicted of any degree of arson. Persons seeking office must file a petition signed by not less than twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the Gates Fire District stating the position and term they are seeking with the Secretary of the Gates Fire District at the Gates Fire District Administration Building, 2365 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624. Such petition must be filed with and actually received, by the Fire District Secretary on or before 12:00 noon on November 20, 2024. Petition forms are available from the Secretary of the Gates Fire District at Gates Fire District Administration Building, 2365 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624.
Any elector of the Gates Fire District who shall be a registered voter with the Monroe County Board of Elections on or prior to November 18, 2024, and who shall have resided in the Gates Fire District for at least thirty days preceding such election shall be qualified to vote.
