LEGAL NOTICE

NOTICE OF A 30-DA Y PERIOD FORPUBLIC REVIEW OF THE MONROE COUNTY AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT NO. 5 and AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT NO. 6

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that Monroe County’s District No. 5, encompassing approximately 96,475 acres in portions of the Towns of Chili, Clarkson, Gates, Greece, Hamlin, Ogden, Parma, Riga, Sweden, and Wheatland and the Villages of Churchville, Hilton, and Spencerport; and District No. 6, encompassing approximately 46,994 acres in portions of the Towns of Brighton, Henrietta, Penfield, Perinton, Pittsford, Mendon, Rush, and Webster and the Villages of Honeoye Falls and Pittsford. The districts were originally established between 1973 and 1976 pursuant to Article 25-AA of the New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that Monroe County is required to conduct a review of a district eight years after its creation and every eight years thereafter.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that a map of the Districts is on file and open to public inspection in the office of the Clerk of the Monroe County Legislature and online at the Monroe County Planning Division website: www.monroecounty.gov/farmland.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that there is hereby established a 30-day period for public review of the above-mentioned Districts, which period commences on March 1, 2025 and terminates on March 30, 2025. During this period, any municipalities and landowners within the Districts may propose modifications by adding land to or removing land from the Districts.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that any proposed modifications to the Districts must be submitted in writing to the Clerk of the Monroe County Legislature within this 30-day period for public review.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the Monroe County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board will hold two Public Information Meetings regarding the Districts: one at the Town of Ogden Community Center, 269 Ogden Center Road, Spencerport, New York, 14559, on Tuesday, March 11, at 7:00 p.m.; another at the Town of Pittsford, Community Center, Room 107, 35 Lincoln Ave, Pittsford, NY 1453, Pittsford, New York, 14534, on Wednesday, March 12, at 7:00 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that at the termination of the 30-day period for public review, the Districts, as currently configured, and any proposed modifications will be submitted to the Monroe County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board for review and recommendation to the Monroe County Legislature whether to continue, modify or terminate the Districts.

Notice is hereby given that the physical accessibility to programs and services for the period beginning on January 1, 2023 and ending on June 30, 2024, has been examined by the Office of the State Comptroller and that the report of examination prepared by the Office of the State Comptroller has been filed in my office where it is available as a public record for inspection by all interested persons. Pursuant to section thirty-five of the General Municipal Law, the governing board of the Town of Chili has prepared a written response to the report of examination prepared by the Office of the State Comptroller and has filed such response in my office as a public record for inspection by all interested persons.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON A LOCAL LAW TO AMEND ARICLE XVI (INCENTIVE ZONING) OF THE CODE OF THE TOWN OF CHILI

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that a Local Law has been introduced to the Town Board of the Town of Chili, New York, on the 15th day of January, 2025, to amend Article XVI (Incentive Zoning) to amend Section 500-107, Cash Payment in Lieu of Amenity.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that a Public Hearing upon said Local Law has been re-scheduled for the 12th day of March 2025, at 7:00 P.M., to be held by the Chili Town Board at the Chili Town Hall, 3333 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624. An opportunity to be heard in regard thereto will then and there be given. 2025 Town and County Taxes

Notice is Hereby Given that the tax warrant for the collection of the 2025 Town and County Taxes on property located in the Town of Chili has been received by Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver of Taxes.

Virginia Ignatowski will receive taxes for the Town of Chili January 1, 2025 through May 31, 2025, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., except on holidays.

  • Checks should be made payable to Virginia Ignatowski, Receiver. Please mail to 3333 Chili Ave., Rochester, NY 14624 or place in the Night Deposit box located to the left of the front doors.
  • Online payment options are available at www.townofchili.org and www.monroecounty.gov. The Town of Chili’s 3rd party vendor charges an additional 2.45% for credit cards or a flat fee of $3.95 for an e-check or visa debit. The County’s vendor charges a 2.75% for credit card transactions and a sliding scale charge ranging from $2.75 to $12.00 for e-checks.

Taxes received on or before February 10, 2025 will not incur interest. All taxes remaining unpaid after February 10, 2025 shall be deemed unpaid and shall be subject to the following penalties:

During the period of February 11 to the last day of February, 1.5%, 3% in March, 4.5% in April and 6% in May until return of unpaid taxes is made by the Receiver to the County Treasurer pursuant to the law.

Please note that whenever a due date lands on a weekend or holiday, it is extended to the following business day.

Take Further Notice that pursuant to the provisions of the law, the tax rolls of the Town of Chili will be returned to the Monroe County Treasury on the first day of June 2025.

If your Taxes are not paid through your mortgage company and you do not receive a tax bill by January 9th, please contact the Town of Chili Tax Office at 889-6129.
