The Town of Chili has an open position for a Deputy Town Clerk/Deputy Receiver of Taxes & Assessments
The position is full-time (35 hrs/week).

Salary Range: $44,000 – $48,000

The Town of Chili is looking to fill a permanent full-time position in the Town Clerk’s Office. To qualify for this position, you MUST be a Chili resident. The Town Clerk’s Office performs the following job duties:

  • Interacting with the public;
  • Issuing dog licenses, hunting/fishing licenses, marriage licenses and handicap/accessible parking permits and collecting the appropriate payment;
  • Processing payments for taxes and other transactions;
  • Balancing daily revenue, inputting the revenue into the appropriate database/spreadsheet and preparing bank deposits;
  • Entering purchase orders into accounting software;
  • Maintaining filing system and scanning of documents;
  • Preparing various correspondence;
  • Notarizing documents (if not already a notary, must be willing to become a notary);
  • General clerical tasks;
  • Superior customer service skills;
  • Other duties as needed.

Applicant must have good knowledge of office terminology, practices and procedures; good knowledge of record keeping; good knowledge of Microsoft word/excel; organizational ability; mathematical ability; filing; ability to operate calculator, computer, cash register; ability to balance tax receipts, calculate interest and prepare receipts; ability to prepare bank deposits/statements; communicate well; ability to deal with the public well; have tact; courtesy; integrity; and physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Banking or teller/cashier experience preferred.
